BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette Review

I made a really quick review video for BH Cosmetics. Check it out:

Proactiv Repairing Treatment Review

Product name: Proactiv Repairing Treatment
Product company: Proactiv
Overall Rating: 97%
Price: $19.95 (comes with a cleanser and a toner which are great!)
Pros: best all-over acne treatment I've ever tried, really helps stop breakouts, love the consistency, feels like a moisturizer while stopping breakouts, slightly fades post-acne marks, feels great on the skin, convenient squeeze bottle, comes with a whole set of products that work well together, contains benzoyl peroxide (the best acne-fighting ingredient), gentle enough for everyday use yet still effective, has a lot of product (much more than an average spot treatment), is used all over the face and both prevents and gets rid of breakouts.
Cons: you have to buy the whole Proactiv system to get this product (I love the whole system and have a subscription to it, but not everyone wants the whole set), may bleach pillowcases (all products with benzoyl peroxide have this risk, however, none of my pillowcases have been messed up before).

The Proactiv Repairing Treatment is by far one of the best acne treatments I've ever used. I have been using it ever since March 2011 and have seen a significant improvement of my acne. It is literally all gone. Every single pimple. However, I still have a bunch of post-acne marks, or acne "scars" as most would call it. The good thing about this treatment is that it is gentle enough to go all over your face, and to be used every morning and night. This is great because it prevents future breakouts from occurring, and it treats any blemishes you might already have. A slight bonus you get with any benzoyl peroxide products is that they have properties that fade dark spots, so by using this every day and night I am preventing acne, treating acne, and fading my post-acne marks, which is a win-win-win! I am literally excited to use it every day because I know what wonders it can make. The Proactiv Repairing Treatment is a staple in my skincare routine!
The smell is pretty good for skincare products, I like the smell because I'm wierd, but it's not strong enough for most people to even notice it. The packaging is once again flawless, cheers to Proactiv once again, and really easy to use. I love the fact that the product is in a squeeze tube, and that the tube has a really small opening to it, making it easier to squeeze the perfect amount out.
Overall, I love this product, and will always repurchase it.

Recommend? YES!
I recommend this to everyone who has acne or breakouts. If you ever have blemish-related skin issues, I'm positive you would benefit from this product!

Proactive Toner Review

Product name: Revitalizing Toner
Product company: Proactiv Solutions
Overall Rating: 94%
Price: $19.95 including cleanser and repairing treatment
Pros: contains glycolic acid, great chemical exfoliant, very effective, get results quickly, fades acne scars, smells good, great price if you buy the 3-step system, my favorite toner of all time (i have 6 at the moment and prefer this one by a landslide).
Cons: you have to order it with the whole set, unless you buy it in a kiosk at a mall but then it will cost WAY more/

This is the toner that I have been using for the past months or so. I had severe acne before I went on proactive. I started when my acne was at it's worst and getting worse. I had tried so many different things to treat my acne but I decided it was time to go on proactive. Let me tell you something; currently, I have the best skincare routine I've ever had in my whole life. I don't only use proactive products, but they are the main ones I use. This toner is pretty amazing if you ask me. The reason people use and need toners is because after you wash your face, your skin's Ph level is distorted. Ph levels tell how alkaline acidic something is and your skin should have a balance of somewhere in between (about 5 on a scale of 14). When you wash your face, your Ph level changes, striping your skin of it's natural defenses and making it more susceptible to damage and bacteria from the environment. This is where toner comes in handy. Toning restores your skin back to its natural Ph level therefore protecting your face from worsening.
It's hard to prove that the toner does this but I believe it does work. Also toner removes any excess face wash, makeup, dirt, or dead skin cells that are left on your face after washing. This is one thing that amazes me every time I use the proactive toner because you can literally see everything its removed on the cotton pads I use to apply it. Most of the toners I've used don't have this same result, so I know that the proactive toner is better in this way.
However, the main thing about the toner that impresses me is that it contains glycolic acid. It is essential to exfoliate your skin, and if the exfoliant is gentle enough you should do it daily. Some dermatologists recommend chemical exfoliants rather than physical exfoliants because they dissolve off the dead skin without you scrubbing at your face and risking irritating your skin. I would say that glycolic acid is probably the most recommended active ingrediant for this. One thing that I don't like is that it is very hard for me to find any skincare products with glycolic acid in them so I was ecstatic when I found out that this toner contains some. The toner does a very good job at chemically exfoliating because I have noticed a big improvement in my skin an that my acne scars are fading away much faster. I am pretty much in love with this toner. Another great thing is that you get results very quickly with this. Just make sure you use it twice a day, consistently and never skip a use!
I like the smell of proactive products so that's always a good thing. Also the packaging is amazing because a bunch of toners I've had have a screw-off top that exposes a pretty wide hole that you have to get the product out of, but this toner is in a bottle with a very small opening that you can squirt exactly how much product you need through it. This eliminates the mess and hassle of larger openings.
Overall, I love this toner and would repurchase it. In fact, I am repurchasing it because mine is half-way gone already and I don't think I can live without it! Okay we all know I can but I really do love this toner.

Recommend? YES!
I recommend this product for everyone who wants nice, healthy, smooth, glowing, clean skin. If you don't have acne I still highly recommend this product!

Proactive Cleanser Review

This is currently the facial cleanser I am using. It's called the Proactive Renewing Cleanser, and it's active ingrediant is benzoyl peroxide. I love this cleanser so much, and I'll tell you why. First off, it has dramatically improved my skin. I had seriously bad breakouts and terrible acne. Now I get way fewer breakouts, and when I do they are much smaller. My acne is finally under control!
I think the benzoyl peroxide in this product is one of the main reasons this has worked so well for me. The other part of the product that is amazing is the exfoliating granuals. These are great because they do a fantastic job as a daily exfoliant. Since I do use face wash morning and night every day, I can't have anything that is too harsh, but I do want something with some exfoliating properties. There are so many granuals in the wash that you feel like you are doing a good job getting rid of all the dead skin and it makes your face feel so clean. Most exfoliating washes aren't as packed with exfoliating particles as this one which makes the product really stand out.
Lastly, I have to mention the packaging, smell, and price. The packaging gets an A from me because it's simple yet chic. For some reason I really love Proactive's containers. One very useful feature is the top because it has a small hole and you squeeze the bottle to get out it's content, and it's so easy and lets you control exactly how much comes out. I think this is probably the best way to dispense a cleanser (and the other products that have the same top as this one) and it makes sure you don't waste any of it. The smell is somehow appealing to me in my own twisted way. I'm not sure why but it smells professional and soothing in a way. The price is just another good thing I can mention about this face wash. You can order it for a monthly subscription for $19.95 (basically 20 bucks) and only pay shipping every 3 months. This price includes the facewash, toner, treatment, mask, and a small sample. I think this is probably one of the best prices I've ever seen for skincare, especially for something so high quality and effective.
Overall, I absolutely love this cleanser, and I'm so excited because I'm going to get a subscription because I've used about half of the set up. I highly recommend this product for anyone with or without acne, but if you do have acne, this is a must-have!

I started using Proactive

Over my spring break I decided I was going to go to extreme measures for my skin. It has been getting worse and breaking out like crazy so i decided it was time to try proactive. I have been using it for about a week and a half now, and I have a few things to tell you about it. First, it costs much less when you get the subscription which is $19.99 a month, but I didn't know how it would work so I got some products at a kisok (sp?) in my mall and instead of being 20 bucks it was $56! Thats more than double the price. I still got it though, and it came with the cleanser, toner, repairing lotion, a small sulfur mask, and a tiny sample size of the green tea moisturizer. I have used the cleanser every day morning and night since the day I got it, and I have to say I really like that product. It is an exfoliating cleanser so it does have little granuals in it, and does a good job of exfloiating, but not over doing it. Since I do use it twice a day, I'm glad that it is not too abrasive. It cleans without leaving your face feeling tight too but I think that's because it has benzol peroxide in it. Also because of the benzol peroxide the face wash doesn't lather, but I don't particularly care in this case because I want my face wash to lather usually but this product works great without. The toner is a pretty good toner, theres not much I can say besides that because toners pretty much feel the same to me and I have six now including that one. However, when you have a toner with salycilic acid in it it can leave your face tight and tingle your skin, but that's the only kind of difference I feel in toners. Also since the ProActive toner has no salycilic acid in it, you can use it around your eye area and it's nice and gentle. The repairing lotion is nice too. I think it does a great job and I am definantly going to repurchase it as well as the cleanser. The toner is nothing too special so far and I have like 5 besides that one that are pretty much full that I need to use. One of the most raved about proactive products is the sulfur mask. I was so excited to try out this product because I have heard so many good things about it, and I am impressed. Basically it is a face mask that has a texture similar to a clay mask but with a little grittiness. It has 6% sulfur in it and goes on opaque looking but after a few hours the color fades. You can use it during the day for like 15 minutes then rinse it off or at night like I do and sleep with it on and take it off before you wash your face in the morning. You can also use it all over your face, or most commonly, as a spot treatment. I have patches that I break out in so I just put it all over the affected area. I love this stuff so far, and together this system has made me break out less overall. One thing it doesn't include that you still need is moisturizer, no matter how oily your skin is. The tiny sample one they include is good for maybe 4 or 5 uses so make sure you have one. The green tea moisturizer seems to be very nice and lightweight, but I prefer heavier moisturizers since I have combination/dry skin but a lightweight moisturizer is good for the day except this one has no spf. You could apply that seprately, but it's just easier when it's all in one. I do however feel like the product is very nourishing even though it is lightweight and it sinks into your skin easily. All the products have been great so overall I give the proactive system five stars. It you are suffering from acne like me I really recommend checking out proactive.

My famous Glitter Lips!

Okay everyone, here is my famous glitter lips picture. I actually took this picture on Christmas of 2010. I went to the church service on Christmas Eve and I made these awesome glittery lips for it. I love this picture. It's my favorite!

How I did it:
First I used and e.l.f. lipliner for the color, and I think the color was "bitten." Then I used a similarly raspberry colored lipgloss from sally hansen, to give a little glitter and shine, then I added some really chunky cosmetic glitter on top of the gloss. It sticks well to gloss, but make sure you don't overapply! I got the pink glitter from Claire's.

Do you like my picture?

First Post
